Kalaburagi: Kalaburgi MP Umesh Jadhav held a productive meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi on July 14 to discuss several crucial demands related to railway connectivity in Kalaburagi District. The primary focus of the meeting was on addressing the need for improved rail services in the region.
During the meeting, Jadhav highlighted the importance of introducing a new train between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru, extending the Mumbai Solapur Vande Bharat Express to Kalaburagi, or launching a new Vande Bharat train connecting Bengaluru and Kalaburagi. Another significant request made by Jadhav was to ensure that five trains, namely the Chennai Egmore Express, Mumbai Nagercoil Express, Konark Express, Mumbai Hyderabad Express, and Hyderabad Vijayapura Express, make scheduled stops at Shahabad station in the District.
Additionally, Jadhav appealed for the reinstatement of all pre-Covid train services, with a specific emphasis on the Solapur Kalaburagi Guntakal (DEMU), Secunderabad Chittapur Memu (MEMU), and Falaknuma Wadi Kachiguda Express routes to Kalaburagi.
In response to these demands, the Union Railway Minister assured Jadhav that the train service between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru would be initiated soon. He also directed the officials to take the necessary steps to implement the various demands discussed during the meeting.
