Bengaluru: Aam Aadmi Party workers protested by lighting a candle near the Gandhi statue in the Maurya circle of the city to condemn the ongoing class conflict, rape of women and the case of young women being paraded naked and raped in Manipur state.
The protest was led by the party’s State Working President Mohan Dasari. “It is highly condemnable that the Central Government led by the BJP has premeditated the violence, brutality and oppression that has been going on in the state of Manipur for the last few months. It is a tragedy that the rape of young women who were nakedly paraded last month has come to light now. It is a tragedy of this country that such accused persons, who can bring down civil society, are not arrested and punished soon,” he said.
“Even after two months of the incident, none of the accused have been arrested and no strict action has been taken against the accused even after it has been reported on social media and in the media. This proves that the BJP is anti-women and pro-rapists. This incident also proves the direct role of the Chief Minister of Manipur. The people of the country will teach BJP a good lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” warned Mohan Dasari.
State Vice President Vijay Sharma, Bangalore City President Dr..Satish Kumar, General Secretary Jagdish Chandra, Darshan Jain, Usha Mohan, Nanjappa Kalegowda, Sushma Veer, Vishwanath, Ravikumar, Prakash Nedugadi, Jagdish Babu, Akram and other leaders participated in the protest.
