It is terrible times for the parents in and around Dakshina Kannada, dealing with the issues related to drug addiction. Realising one’s own kid being the victim of the racket is further drenching.
Policing has been challenging every day in the Coastal District of Karnataka, due to the rapid spread of ‘young victims’ in addiction. Nook and corners of the remotest villages are being the target to the drug peddlers now. It has now become a time testing game for both parents and the police, to deal with the issue and come out with a solution. As said, there is always a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
First of all, the parents should make themselves ready to reserve a probability of thought about their own son or daughter’s involvement in the issue, which will act as a steppingstone in coming up with the solution. The new ray of hope for Mangalorean’s now, is the work of Police Department with regards to affirmative action’s rather than choosing punishment as an option.
In an interactive session held with public in the first week of the month, the Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R. Jain of the District have assured the counselling sessions to the victims. It has also informed about the availability of experts for counselling in all the 15 police stations of the city for two hours.
Now it is the term for the parents, villagers and the organisations to come forward for the cause and help the victim heal, so that a positive society is built.
