YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, is conducting a cutting-edge trial that allows mobile viewers to craft Shorts using comments from the videos they watch. This latest feature complements the existing option for creators to respond to comments with their own Shorts. The Shorts generated by viewers will be visible in the Shorts feed and on their channel pages.
Notably, neither the comment authors nor the video makers will get alerts on these Shorts based on comments. Only by disabling comments on their videos can creators stop their comments from appearing in Shorts. Currently, only a small portion of Android and iOS users globally may access the trial.
In addition to this fascinating test, YouTube had also previously disclosed two more tests. In the first, users can press anywhere on the video player to employ a long-press function to double the pace of video playback. By offering larger previews when searching through a video, the second test attempts to improve user experience and make it easier to locate particular moments.
YouTube has also been looking closely at a three-strikes policy for users who use ad blockers. The site made it abundantly clear that using ad blockers is against its Terms of Service. The company is committed to keeping a fair and interesting platform for both content producers and users as it continues its journey of innovation and development of new features.
