Shivamogga: The senior BJP leader K. S. Eshwarappa family was in jubilant mood on April 21 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Eshwarappa and enquired about his health.
As it was usual day for Eshwarappa was resting at his house. But the call from PMO made all the family members happy, who never expected such a call. It’s Modi himself called Eshwarappa and enquired about his health. Eshwarappa too thanked Modi for calling him.
Senior leader and former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa was a ticket aspirant of Shivamogga City, but High Command instructed him to retire from active politics and pave way for youngsters. Eshwarappa followed the instructions of the High Command without fail. The Eshwarappa family expected that the ticket would be given to Eshwarappa’s son K. E. Kanthesh, but the party chose Channabasappa a common worker of the party.
Eshwarappa happily accepted the ticket given to Channabasappa, who grew up with him. Kantesh also did not speak any rebel words but actively participated with Channabasappa while submitting nomination papers.
Apart from that, Eshwarappa went to Hubballi and extended his support to the BJP candidate Mahesh Tenginakai who is contesting against Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar.
Before that, Eshwarappa had lashed out at former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, who left the BJP and joined the Congress after not getting a ticket through an open letter.
On April 21 at around 8.00 am, PM Narendra Modi called Eshwarappa. He inquired about his health and asked about political scenario in Shivamogga.
Speaking to Modi, Eshwarappa said that the party and the organisation was always with him. While Eshwarappa was talking to Modi, his son Kantesh, daughter-in-law and grandson also came and observed the Prime Minister talking.
Modi congratulated him for working sincerely for the party.
Speaking to mediaperons after the talks, Eshwarappa said that Modi told he him that he would meet when he came to Karnataka.
It was seen that Eshwarappa was very happy.
While talking to Modi, Eshwarappa also said that he is an ordinary activist. It is said that Modi made this call as an acknowledgement for Eshwarappa respectfully following the instructions given by the party.
