The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted five raids in Jammu and Kashmir on August 4 in connection with a terror-related case. The raids were also taken out at the home of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Omar Ganie, a Kulgam resident.
According to official sources, the NIA team, along with Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), began operations in five locations in Kulgam and Pulwama.
Raids were conducted in two locations in south Kashmir: Sethergund and Ugergund.
The NIA conducted raids last month in terror funding cases tied to Pakistan-based groups. The raids took place in three south Kashmir districts: Shopian, Pulwama, and Kulgam.
Terrorist outfits including as Hizbul Mujahideen, LeT, and Jaish-e-Mohammad may be receiving terror funds, according to reports.
The NIA has conducted searches in Jammu and Kashmir to target new terror organisations such as The Resistance Front (TRF), the United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), the Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), the Kashmir Tigers, and others.
These terror organisations came to light following the repeal of Jammu and Kashmir’s special powers on August 5, 2019.
