Mangaluru: People’s activist Sunil Kumar Bajal said that he cannot tolerate the low-level politics of spreading hatred between religions by targeting poor fairs and festival traders and throwing the poor on the streets.
Addressing a conference of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District level fair businessmen held at Bangera Bhavana in the City, he said that the constitution has given the right to life to all people, some vested interests in the coastal districts who are breaking the society are trying to enforce an unwritten law that non-religious people should not be allowed to hold fairs in fairs and are hampering the income of the business and meritorious sectors. He accused them of imposing an unwritten law on the board.
Justice B. M. Bhatt, who spoke as the chief guest, demanded that the communal suppressors should take strict legal action against those who obstruct the trade in the fair festivals of the undivided districts and the state Government should be committed to protect the poor traders in this regard.
Another chief guest, pro-people activist Manjula Naik, spoke to the market traders and urged the government to take appropriate action against those who spread poison among the poor.
Charan Shetty, legal advisor of the association, social workers Kaviraj Udupi, Naveen Konchadi, Bharat Jain, Arif Udupi addressed the convention. B. K. Imtiaz, Honorary President of Dakshina Kannada District Street Traders’ Credit Development Association presided.
Street Traders Association President Mohammad Mustafa, Leaders Asif Bava Urumane, Naushad Ullala, Rahiman Adyar, Riaz, Adam Bajal etc. were present.

Resolutions of the Convention:
1. The government should conduct a survey through the local administration and issue identity cards and certificates to the festival traders doing business at fairs, festivals, Uroos etc.
2. Adequate protection should be provided to fair traders.
3. Muzrai, Waqf, Religious Endowment Departments should be guided to conduct alum at fair rates in fairs and festivals of shrines of all religions to raise revenue of the sector.
4.Communal suppression dal should keep strict vigilance and take strict legal action against the person and organization spreading communal hatred by harassing people of other religion from doing business.
