Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar is making baseless allegations since he did not have any issue to speak and the non-rejection of the nomination papers of any candidate is evidence that his charges are false. The process ended on April 21, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
He was reacting to Shivakumar’s allegation that there has been pressure from the Chief Minister’s Office to reject the nomination papers of the Congress candidates here on April 22.
When asked about Shivakumar’s allegation that everybody including Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje will finish off Former CM B. S. Yediyurappa politically, the CM said does Shivakumar not know how they have finished off Siddaramaiah. In the previous election, they finished him politically at the Chamundeshwari constituency and this time it will happen in the Varuna constituency. The people are aware of it and I do not need to give a reply, he added.
On the charges that the nomination papers of the BJP candidates including that of Saudatti were not in order, the CM said it is being examined by returning officers and added that no party can do anything as everything is videographed.
The campaign by noted Kannada actor, Sudip will be finalised within one or two days, he said.
Informing that he would go on the election roadshow from April 23, the CM said it would start from Yalahanka and then proceed to Doddaballapura, Nelamangala, Tumakuru, Arsikere, Belagavi division, and then Mysuru division.
