Bengaluru: The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of scattered rains in the state of Karnataka in the next four to five days. However, it has started raining in many places in Bangalore since August 19 evening and it has rained heavily in Tumakuru District.
There was a downpour of rain in many places including Vidhana Soudha, Shantinagar, Majestic, Malleswaram, Jayanagar, Lalbagh, Bangalore city. It is still raining in some places and cloudy in some places.
There was heavy rainfall all over Tumakuru city. Due to the sudden rain, the motorists were in a frenzy. The underpass near Antarsanahalli in Tumakuru was flooded, a private bus got stuck in it and evacuation work has been done. If it rains in this zone, five to six feet of rain water floods the underpass.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of rain in the state of Karnataka for the next 4 to 5 days. It has been informed that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal and hilly parts and moderate rain in the northern hinterland.
In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of heavy rain in a few parts of all the coastal districts, moderate rain is possible in many places, according to the report of the Meteorological Department.
Thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places across the state in the next 48 hours. It has warned that storm speed is likely to be 30-40 km per hour inland.
In the next 24 hours, Bangalore City will have mostly cloudy weather. There is a chance of thundershowers at some places. At times strong surface winds are likely to blow, the Meteorological Department stated in a report. This will continue for the next 48 hours.
