Bengaluru: The state BJP unit, which is left without a suitable leader after the defeat in the Assembly elections, has called an important core committee meeting on August 21 after the possibility of “Operation Congress” has increased. Many issues including Lok Sabha election strategy are likely to be discussed here.
This is the first meeting of the core committee after the Assembly elections. A meeting is being held at BJP office on August 21 beginning 11.00 am in the presence of Former CM B. S. Yeddiyurappa, Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, K. S. Eshwarappa, C. T. Ravi and all the current members of the core committee.
BJP has decided to hold a massive protest against the state Government on August 23. Its outline too wil be further discussed in the meeting. In addition, there will be a proposal regarding the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. Most importantly, the fear of Operation Congress is haunting the party, there will be discussions about holding the MLAs and countering the tactics of the Congress.
Meanwhile, state leaders fear that the animosity created between some Lok Sabha members and MLAs may affect the Lok Sabha elections. So they have decided to conduct a negotiation process. This problem has been created in five Lok Sabha constituencies including Bidar, Mysuru and Davanagere. In this backdrop, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has come forward for negotiations.
After the core committee meeting, Joshi has called Union Minister Bhagwant Khuba and Former Minister Prabhu Chauhan to come to the party office. Joshi has made a plan to take the two together and hold talks, and after the talks, there is a possibility of sending a report to the Centre. But according to sources, an atmosphere has been created between Khuba and Chauhan where they do not see each other’s faces and it has been learned that there is a possibility that someone will be absent for the meeting.
