As we grow old, our ability to take stress and negativity deteriorates. We feel exhausted mentally and physically, the smallest of things can affect us and make us feel let down. A few things we should be mindful about, as we age.
Take care of your body, remember the saying, “health is wealth”. A lot of money will be of no use if you aren’t physically fit enough to do anything.
Be comfortable in your own company. Some paths are meant only for you, so walk them alone. Not every goal has to be achieved with someone by your side.
Learn to use your energy for your benefit. Stop being fearful of change, rather use your energy to adapt to new things, learn and grow.
Expectations should be of oneself and not others. Do not give the key to your happiness in someone else’s hand.
Every day of your life is a gift; hence it is called the ‘present’. Enjoy and do what makes you happy. Do not worry about the future and brood over the past.
Get this straight, you have no control over someone’s action or behaviour, all you have control over is your reaction. Focus on that. Change yourself and distance yourself from unwanted situations.
Have you heard, “ignorance is bliss”? It is. Not everything needs a reaction. Walking away to keep your mental peace, is absolutely acceptable.
You will get a lot of advice, which is understandable, as it comes “free”. There is no need to pay heed to everything said. You know yourself the best.
Not everything is your problem.
Learn to say “NO”.
We humans, are really nature’s masterpiece. We love to see someone fail. I know that sounds mean, but it is the bitter truth of this world. We have to learn to feel happy and thrilled for others and at the same time grow personally.
Now is the best time to flourish and do just that.
