New Delhi: Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Election 2023), the exit polls are gaining attention. The India Today Group’s ‘C Voter Mood of the Nation’ survey has predicted that he will continue as Prime Minister for the next term. According to the survey, the BJP-led NDA alliance is likely to win 306 seats with 43 per cent of the votes. According to the survey, the BJP is likely to win 287 seats on its own.
The India Alliance, formed by a coalition of 26 other parties, will win 193 seats with 41 per cent of the votes. The BJP will lose 13 of the 303 seats compared to the last elections. However, the NDA is likely to return to power for the third time, the survey said.
The BJP will get 39 per cent of the votes, 2 per cent more than the last election. The Congress will also increase its vote share by 2 per cent to 22 per cent. But its gap with the BJP will be 17 per cent. The vote share of other parties is likely to come down from 43 per cent to 39 per cent. The Congress is expected to win 22 seats compared to the last elections, thereby increasing its Lok Sabha tally from 52 to 74. This is the highest since 2014. Other parties are likely to get 182 seats, the survey said.
The I. N. D. I. A. faction is likely to make gains in West Bengal and Bihar. In West Bengal, the alliance is expected to win 24 seats while the NDA is expected to win 18 seats. The saffron party will retain the same number of seats it had won in 2019. In Bihar, the I. N. D. I. A. alliance is likely to win 26 seats. But the NDA may get 14 seats. In the last elections, the NDA had made a clean sweep in the state by winning 39 of the 40 seats
The survey shows that the BJP can repeat its 2014 performance in Uttar Pradesh and win 72 of the 80 seats with a vote share of around 49 per cent. The INDIA alliance with the Samajwadi Party may win only 8 seats with 38 per cent of the votes, the survey reported.
Most of those surveyed stated that the opposition alliance cannot defeat the BJP. According to the survey, 54 per cent of the people felt that the India faction could not defeat the BJP, while 33 per cent said it would defeat the BJP.
When asked who would be the right candidate for the next Prime Minister’s post, 52 per cent of the respondents said “Narendra Modi”, while 16 per cent favoured Rahul Gandhi.
