According to reports, Adani Group will construct the world’s largest hybrid power bank in Gujarat’s Kutch district’s Khavda desert. With this announcement, the corporation reaffirmed its intention to build 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. When completed, the park will generate 20 GW of renewable energy.
Adani Group’s Chairman elaborated on the intentions to develop the hybrid power bank, saying, “We are now building the largest hybrid renewables park in the world — right in the middle of the desert — in Khavda.” It will be the most complicated and ambitious endeavour we have ever undertaken.”
Gautam Adani noted that the facility will be built faster than any other project in the company’s history. Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) will be in charge of the project’s development.
Adani stated that AGEL already has the record of commissioning the world’s largest hybrid solar-wind project of 2.14 GW in Rajasthan, emphasising the company’s position and commitment to play a significant part in the country’s march towards net-zero emissions.
Adani Group’s Chairman stated that the company will continue to focus on large-scale, cost-effective green energy generation.
Adani Enterprises’ other subsidiary, Kutch Copper, is building an integrated copper smelting and refinery complex with an annual capacity of 0.5 MTPA, according to Adani. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) would commission India’s largest transhipment centre in Vizhinjam, Kerala, over the next 12-24 months, according to the company’s goals.
Adani also discussed the Hindenburg disaster, which caused a drop in the value of Adani Group shares. “On the eve of our Republic Day this year, a US-based short-seller published a report to short our stocks just as we were about to launch the largest follow-on public offer in India’s history,” the chairman added.
“The report was a mix of targeted misinformation and debunked allegations, the majority of which dated from 2004 to 2015.” “At the time, the appropriate authorities resolved them all,” Adani added.
He went on to argue that there is no comparable to India’s success story in balancing economic expansion and a vibrant democratic society.
