Bengaluru: Officials of the Income Tax (IT) Department on April 23 conducted raids on three locations belonging to Former Minister and Congress Leader K. Gangadhar Gowda in Dakshina Kannada District of poll-bound Karnataka.
IT officials, along with police officials, raided an educational institution belonging to Gowda’s son Ranjan Gowda and two houses belonging to Gowda, who is also the Vice President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), and his kin April 24 morning in Belthangady.
Gowda’s residence is right next to the Belthangady Taluk Hospital. His second house is located in Indabettu. The sleuths held raids on all the properties, simultaneously. During the raids, the officials found Rs. 30 Lakh in cash. Further details are awaited.
In 2018, Gowda, who was then with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), joined the Congress party. He was denied a ticket from the Congress for the state Assembly elections on May 10.
