In an important development, NEC Corporation India in partnership with Tirupati Smart City Corporation Limited, unveiled its state-of-the-art Smart City project in Tirupati, India. This large-scale project includes the creation of a City Operations Center (COC) in Tirupati as well as the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions throughout the city.
The city’s response capabilities in areas like safety, security, healthcare, and the environment are ultimately improved by the ICT solutions, which include integrated services and a Unified Command and Control Center. Further supporting data-driven decision-making for city operations will be a strong city network infrastructure and on-premises data center.
The Intelligent Traffic Management System from NEC India will soon be put into use to improve traffic flow, relieve congestion during peak hours, and lower accident rates. Additionally, the business will work with Tirupati government officials to supply municipal services using cutting-edge systems that incorporate facial recognition technology, intelligent video management technology, and the integration of CCTV camera feeds. To support effective city government, the project also involves the development of smart water solutions, environmental sensors, and public address systems.
Digital Billboards and Variable Message Sign Boards will adorn specific locations to improve the aesthetic appeal of the city. In addition, a City Collaboration Platform will be created to make vital municipal information available to both residents and guests via web portals and mobile devices.
“NEC India’s vast experience in establishing Smart Cities in India is a direct result of our 70+ year history in the region, where we have proven our capabilities in utilizing technology-driven solutions to solve a wide range of challenges,” said Aalok Kumar, President and CEO of NEC Corporation India.
