Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister and Lingayat Leader B. S. Yediyurappa has been let into the arena of Former BJP men, Former CM Jagadish Shettar and Former Deputy CM Laxman Savadi, to rein them in at their constituencies and reduce their influence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is the BJP High Command for the Karnataka Assembly elections, has taken a decision to provide helicopter for BSY’s campaigning tour owing to latter’s health and scorching sun. Shrewd Leader that Amit Shah is, he has realised that it is only possible to avoid those two Lingayat leaders from influencing the voters and has instructed the state leaders to make maximum use of Yediyurappa. Therefore, BJP has decided to use Yediyurappa’s charisma and experience to woo North Karnakata voters. The aid of helicopter definitely will keep Yediyurappa happy and vigourous.
B. S. Yediyurappa will campaign in all the pre-scheduled programmes organised by the party. Majority of the BJP candidates have thus demanded that Yediyurappa should campaign at their constituencies only after May 1. The reason is the fear that if BSY campaigns before May , the opposition Congress might make a counter strategy by bringing in film actors or other National level leader for campaign. Due to paucity of time Yediyurappa may not be able to visit the constituencies again.
B. S. Yediyurappa has stayed in Shikaripura in view of the insistence of Belagavi District candidates that he should come only after May 1. He will also tour Belagavi District after May 1. Demand for having BSY has only increased as far as last week of campaigning is concerned from candidates of various districts including Chitradurga. Thus, BSY will be fully busy as it is during the penultimate week of election.
Party sources too confirmed that the demand for Yeddy’s campaigning will see a rise in the final days leading upto election.
