Althaf Kumpala, who had submitted a nomination for the JD (S) ticket from the Mangalore constituency, has denied the claim that Congress leaders pressured him to revoke it, according to Congress Block President Sadashiva Ullal, who made the statement during a press conference.
On April 20, Althaf submitted his papers for nomination and the following day, he withdrew the same.
According to one claim made by the Congress earlier, he committed the act as a result of pressure tactics employed by the Congress party.
It was never a JD (S) seat, so it is completely false, told Ullal.
Leaders outside of JD (S) are involved. The workers of the Congress claimed to have never met Althaf.
The State Legislative Council Member B. M. Farooq gave Althaf the B Form to run for office after he recently joined the JD (S) and became a member of the organisation.
Supporters of Congress and Althaf’s friends Mustafa and Usman K are unaware of the reason for Althaf’s withdrawal.
Regardless, his opponent MLA U. T. Khader is certain to prevail, it is said. People who do not accept this are currently causing confusion.
