Nipah virus concern is increasing day by day in the neighboring state of Kerala. Thus, a high alert has been declared in the state of Karnataka and precautionary measures are also being taken in the Bannerghatta Biological Park. Medicine is being sprayed twice a day near the cages that already have birds. A lot of attention has been paid to the bats that come into the park from outside, and a lot of attention has been paid to the food and health of the animals and birds in the park.
Arrangements have been made for tourists coming from outside to come in by stepping on the disinfectant solution at the entrance and exit gates. This is to prevent the spread of infection. Bleaching powder and lime powder have been given high priority for cleanliness both inside and outside the park. Anti virus disinfection is being sprayed around the park. Preparations are being made for thermal screening of tourists as thousands of people arrive from other states every day. Surya Sen, Executive Officer of Bannerghatta Biological Park, said that if the government issues guidelines in the next few days, masks will be made mandatory and sanitizers will be arranged and further precautionary measures will be taken.
