Bengaluru: Bengaluru Bandh protest tomorrow, September 26, is a response to the Karnataka government’s decision to allocate Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. All are required water, all should land to fight, Aam Aadmi Party state president Dr.Mukhyamantri Chandru requested.
Chandru and Kuruburu Shantakumar lead Karnataka Jala Samrakshana Samithi (KJSS), called Bengaluru bandh with support of more than 150 unifications.
All have supported the bandh regardless of party affiliation. There is no use in fighting after running out of water. Immediately should stop the water release to Tamil Nadu. The Water Management Board Authority Committee orders should be abolished. An independent committee should be formed like the Election Commission, M.Chandru urged.
150+ unifications supported the Bandh including APMC Workers Association, Samata Sainika Dala, Entrepreneurs Association, Karnataka Cultural Forum, Various Employees Association, BMTC Drivers Association, Farmers Organizations, Pro Kannada activists Organizations, Auto Drivers Organizations, Taxi Cab Drivers Organizations, Transport Organizations, ITBT Organizations, Labor Organizations, Student Associations, Artists Associations, Hotel Owners Associations, Political Parties, Bengaluru Street Vendors Association, BBMP Employees Association, State Sugarcane Growers Association President Kuruburu Shantakumar informed.
On September 26th at 11 am, all will meet at the Town Hall. From there, the procession will be held to Freedom Park. A protest will be held there. A letter of compulsion will be given to CM Siddaramaiah. If he does not respond rightly the fight will be more aggressive. Mandya, Ramnagar, Malavalli, T.Narasipura and other areas also bandh will be held, He informed
Bandh should be held peacefully. All associations should request people to do bandh peacefully. Any unpleasant activities should not be carried during the bandh. Even evil spirits can try to suppress the bandh. Police should take precautions, He urged.
