Bengaluru: Launching a poll campaign ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election, Housing, Minorities Welfare and Vijayanagar District In-Charge Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan called upon the minority community to stand by the Congress Party one hundred percent.
Speaking at a meeting of the community leaders after inspecting the work of the Shadi mahal on behalf of the Jamia Masjid at Chapparada Halli in Sandur, he said there must not be any negligence in voting. If they did not put one vote it was like two votes benefit for the BJP. In the interest of the nation, the community must support the Congress party. The coming election was very crucial and the minority community as they stood by the Congress Party in the recently held Assembly polls but also supported the party in the coming parliamentary polls.
“There would be peace in the country only if the Congress Party comes to power in the Centre. A lot of welfare schemes have been launched whenever the Congress Party ruled the country. The Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government in the State has launched all the guaranteed schemes which have benefitted thousands of families. For the speedy completion of the Shadi Mahal, Rs 50 lakh would be released in two stages”, Minister said.
He said, If a proposal was submitted for the development of 11 mosques, the financial assistance would be arranged from the Wakf Board. The Directorate of Minorities Welfare and Minorities Development Corporation have evolved a number of schemes in education and self-employment and the community must take benefit of the same.
Minister inspects Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
Housing, Minorities Welfare, and Vijayanagar District-In-Charge Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan inspected the work of a housing complex being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and executed by the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation on Kappalakunte village in Sandur Town on Monday.
As many as 2172 houses were constructed on 32 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 135 crore. The minister instructed the officials to complete the work soon and distribute the houses to the beneficiaries. MLA Tukaram and leaders were present.
