Bengaluru: Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said there is thinking for the adoption of students of the Moulana Azad and Residential schools who score cent percent marks in SSLC and second PU annual examinations and bearing their cost of higher education.
Speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Moulana Azad Model English Medium School built for Rs 1.60 crore at Arasikere in Hassan district on Tuesday, Minister Zameer said the poor children must not be denied education because of poverty and economic crisis. Given this, such a thing is being made. A lot of importance had been given to education after taking the responsibility of the Minorities Welfare Department. The Muslim community must give importance to education. At the same time, the parents must focus on providing education to their wards. Education is a big strength and it is priceless. The previous BJP Government had stopped the scholarships for minority students and the same was resumed after the Congress Government came to power.
The minister said the scholarship and loan facility had been extended to those students who wish to study medicine or engineering, and also study abroad.
MLA Shivalingegowda said, “Some people have developed heartburn for five guarantee schemes launched by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress Government. One need guts to start these five freebies that would cost Rs 62,000 crore for the incumbent government. Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan has emerged as the Muslim leader in the State. He strove hard and frequented Delhi to make me a minister.”
The Muslim community must show its strength to the Janata Dal (Secular) which has struck an alliance with the BJP. The JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy has said he did not want the Muslim votes. The Congress Party was the only party that would protect their interest. The coming Lok Sabha election was very important in the interest of the future of the country, said Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan.
He added, that former PM and the JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda was not in favor of the alliance with the BJP but he had been forced to accept. Deve Gowda is still secure whereas his son, H D Kumaraswamy sacrificed the party for his selfish reasons. The State JDS President C M Ibrahim was not called for the meeting to finalize the alliance with the BJP in Delhi. Even the JDS lone MP, Prajwal Revanna was not present in that meeting.
