Ballari: The District recorded a record high of 42 Degree Celsius. The heat is increasing day by day. The heat has not only affected humans but also animals. The Ballari Police Department has made special arrangements for the dogs of the department as the temperature rises.
Six dogs of foreign breeds are being given royal treatment in a room at the DAR Ground in Ballari. The dog’s room is equipped with an air cooler, a fan and an exhaust fan. Special arrangements have been made for the dogs working hand in hand with the Police Department so that they do not get exposed to the heat of the summer sun.
Coconut water system
The dogs here are given coconut water, liquids and energisers on a daily basis. In addition, other liquids, including ragi malt, are being supplied. At present, the average temperature in the District is 42 Degree Celsius and the temperature is likely to rise further in the coming days.
However, dogs should reduce the temperature through their mouths. For this reason, during the summer season, special care is being given to foreign breed police dogs by giving them coolers and cold water bath. At present, there are six dogs in the dog rooms at the DAR Ground and one air cooler has been provided for each dog.
Just as humans resort to AC, cooler, etc. to escape the scorching heat, police dogs are also getting the same facility. These dogs play an important role in detecting any crime that has taken place. Therefore, the work of the police in protecting them from deteriorating health is indeed an example for others.
