Mangaluru: Mangaluru CCB police have arrested a man who was making fake documents and selling them to the public illegally for huge sums of money. The owner of this firm has been identified as Bernard Roshan Mascrenhas
He had opened a firm -“Help Line Mangalore” in a room on the ground floor of Vishwas Crown Apartment on the old road Kankanadi-Pumpwellroad , Mangalore. He allegedly created fake documents like Aadhaar card, ration card, caste Certificate, Birth Certificate, and other documents.
When the CCB Sleuths raided his premises, they found fake Aadhaar cards, fake ration cards, fake business licences, fake SSLC mark sheets, and fake birth certificates prepared by him in different names. Those who obtained fake documents from him for the last 3 years used them to get loan facilities from banks and various government agencies. Lakhs of rupees to the government coffers by using the facilities of the departments. The preliminary investigation has revealed that he has carried on creating fake documents for many years and extended his service to many thousands of people.
The CCB sleuths have also confiscated a laptop, colour printer, laminator machine, and biometric device used for making fake certificates from the accused. A case has been registered in this regard at the CEN Crime Police Station. Many more people are involved in this fake document making network, and the search for them is going on. Further investigation is under the guidance of Anupam Agarwal, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru City.
