Bengaluru: The Morarji Desai Residential Schools, undergoing expansion and improvement with a doubled intake of students, have received government approval to hire 808 staff positions for the same. Among these positions are 10 principals, 248 lecturers, and 60 teachers. Notably, the Morarji Desai Residential School in Hossur has secured 100 positions through the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment process. Recently, at a gathering chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Minister for Minority Welfare Zameer Ahmed Khan, alongside principals, lecturers, teachers, and other committee members, emphasized the necessity of these appointments.
In addition to the 708 external positions, the approval has granted funding for 100 local positions, fulfilling a significant need. The Morarji Desai Residential Schools, catering to students from grades 6 to 12, will receive 558 positions to meet the school’s infrastructure improvement goals. Moreover, 50 Morarji Desai Residential Schools, serving students, have secured 250 positions for classes 6 to 10. The commencement of 10 new Morarji Desai Residential Schools, starting from grades 6 to 10, is also supported with the allocation of 100 positions, backed by the Department of Finance.
The aim of these hirings is to ensure the educational upliftment of over a thousand students in the community. These developments have been met with praise, especially from the Minority Welfare Minister, Zameer Ahmed, who expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his quick actions in the matter. Education for the community is given top priority, and the rapid implementation of this decision demonstrates the government’s commitment to this cause.
