Srinagar: An Explosive information has come to light regarding the terrorist attack case in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch District. A week after the attack, terrorists are receiving arms supplies from Pakistan through drones and as many as 12 terrorists are known to be operating in this area.
Five soldiers were killed on April 20 last when a vehicle in which they were traveling was attacked in Poonch District. The next day, 12 suspects were arrested. Later, regarding the incident, the team led by the Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Dilbagh Singh has been conducting a tight operation to neutralise the terrorists since last one week, and now this explosive information has come to light.
Among the arrested suspects, Nasir Ahmed had sheltered terrorists, police said.
When Nasir Ahmed was interrogated further, more important information came to light. At the same time, it is known that weapons are being supplied by drones from Pakistan to the terrorists residing in this area. But the information was not helpful in tracing him. Already 12 suspects have been arrested and more than 200 people have been summoned for questioning. It has been informed that a continuous operation is going on to trace the attackers.
Five soldiers were martyred in an attack on the vehicle in which the soldiers were traveling. After the attack, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh and Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh were stationed in neighboring Rajouri District to oversee the investigation. Two officers also visited the spot. A team of the National Investigation Agency led by a Deputy Inspector General rank officer inspected the spot.
In the preliminary report, there was information about the participation of as many as five terrorists in the attack. The army truck was attacked from three sides. After the attack, the terrorists burnt the vehicle using grenades and bombs. The attackers lived in Rajouri and Poonch for over a year. They had a lot of knowledge about such a tough terrain. It was learned that currently 3 to 4 terrorist groups are active in this area. Banned terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed’s People’s Anti-Fascist Front claimed responsibility for the attack.
