Usually we go to restaurants to try tasty food and finally when we leave the restaurant/cafe we do have some impression about food, service or the environment. But what if the food service available above ground level or you are eating food near graveyard. Strange isn’t it? Yes there are several restaurant around the world where you can get food but are served in a mysterious, and adventurous way, which leaves people stunned.
Here below are five restaurants which takes you to a different world.
1) Dinner in the sky, Belgium
People in Belgium can enjoy their meal 50 metres above the ground as the dining-in-the-sky experience. Belgium-based Dinner in the Sky involves diners strapped into seats at a table suspended from a crane while well-known chefs cook and serve from the centre. Up to 32 diners can reserve four-person private tables at the restaurant. Dinner in the Sky offers three sittings – for lunch and two for dinner over the coming two weeks.
2) Fortezza Medicea Restaurant, Italy
Fortezza Medicea is a famous restaurant in Italy. It has been in the service of guests since 2007. It is actually a palace built in 1474. But today it is being used as a security prison. Here the jail inmates cook food and food is served in plastic containers for security reasons. Bookings should be made a few weeks in advance at this restaurant. It is forbidden to bring cell phones and bags to jail. At the entrance, all visitors are searched using a metal search device. The visitors have a chance to meet a real person from prison, which will make the impressions even sharper. The restaurant still has an important distinctive feature – all its staff consists exclusively of prisoners who are punished in the old prison. The prisoners cook the food for the visitors and serve them personally, some of them playing different musical instruments.
3) Nayotaimori (Tokyo)
Built in Tokyo, the Capital of Japan, this restaurant is quite famous. Here a woman-shaped dummy decorated with food is placed on a table in front of people. Each one is given a knife and a different device instead of a fork. Body parts are designed in the same way as food items. It’s so scary to see this.
4) The Mug House, England
This ancient hostelry with its unique location and history offers a fine range of Bank’s traditional ales with guest beers and serves a menu of home cooked food. Located in the grounds of Claines Church and once the Church Ale House, the Mug House is at least 700 years old and actually stands within the walls of the Church graveyard on consecrated ground.
5) The Disaster Cafe, Spain
Who doesn’t freak out when earthquake strikes? Here’s one crazy cafe in Lloret de Mar, Spain where dining comes with a nerve-wracking 7.8 magnitude earthquake. People would normally run out for their lives when there’s an earthquake but instead of getting out, customers at Disaster Cafe hold on to their drinks and tactically keep their balance.
The cafe workers and staff are required to wear construction helmets while serving the meals intentionally made to be heavier than they should be. Customers have to be vigilant all the time because no one knows when the earthquake strikes. This cafe is so popular that if you wish to get a table, you have to make reservations in advance.
