Bengaluru: BJP has come up with a People’s Manifesto which will ensure better lives to the people. BJP never encourages and does not believe in free schemes. But some schemes have been announced for the empowerment of certain sections of the society, said Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar, who is also the Convener of the Manifesto Committee.
After the BJP Manifesto launch event, Sudhakar said, “Schemes like free electricity, free water bill, free bus fare are completely free schemes. We are not ready to empty the treasury by saying that we will give everything for free and discourage hardworking Kannadigas. If the gas cylinder is given free, it will protect women’s health. Likewise every scheme should be designed keeping in mind the social impact. The health of women has improved with the Ujjwala scheme brought by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that 3 free cylinders announced in the manifesto is intended to further women empowerment,” he said.
“People won’t trust the guarantees announced by the Congress party. Similar false promises have been made in the other Congress-ruled states. Congress lost in 11 states where it made similar promises,” he said that the same situation will also occur in the state.
“Widespread corruption has taken place in Indira Canteen. If 100 people ate food, 1,000 people were billed and public money was looted. But the Atal canteen announced in our manifesto will be different in terms of quality of food as it provides millet based food, milk and other nutritious food,” he said.
“The aim is to create 50 lakh jobs in various sectors including agriculture, food processing, service sector, manufacturing sector and IT. Ration is not just giving 10 kg of rice. Along with 5 kg of rice, 5 kg of millets is added. Food kits which includes Nandini milk will be provided to the poor every month to ensure balanced and nutritious diet for the entire family. This will build a healthy Karnataka. Giving millets and Nandini milk also give a boost to these products, he said and added that BJP is the party which introduced incentive for milk to help farmers and milk unions.
About 6 lakh suggestions have been received from different parts of the state and 29000 suggestions have been received through online platforms. Meetings have been held with experts and representatives from about 50 different sectors. In this way, suggestions for the manifesto were collected from the grassroots level. Also, the assurances has been formulated only after considering the fiscal situation of the state. Other parties are trying to win election by making false promises, he added.
He said BJP’s manifesto does not intended to mislead or lure voters with impractical and unsustainable promises. Congress guarantees are like Mehendi (Gorenti in Kannada). It stays for three or four days and then goes away. Our guarantees are like the Rs. 10,000 given to farmers under Kisan Samman Yojana, Scholarship given under Vidyanidhi Yojana, and 5 lakh Health insurance under Ayushman Bharat, he said and added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is our most credible guarantee.
The existing Ayushman Bharat insurance which provides Rs. 5 lakh coverage to BPL families will be increased to Rs.10 lakh. A coverage of Rs.5 lakh per annum will be provided for APL families. This step furthers BJP’s motto of ‘Right to Health for All’. Namma clinics will be established in every slum across all cities. Special emphasis has been given to the health sector in the manifesto, he said.
A high level committee will be formed regarding Uniform Civil Code. Action will be taken after this committee submits its report. People are being empowered to ensure better management of temples. Hinduism is a way of life. It is our responsibility to preserve it, he said.
Priyank Kharge is an irresponsible dynast who has entered politics solely based on the strength of his father’s political background. Making such unwarranted comments against the person holding the country’s highest office is completely unacceptable. His father also has made personal comments about our Prime Minister. Whenever the Congress starts smelling an imminent defeat in elections they start making personal comments against PM Modi out of desperation and frustration. People of India have always loved and supported Prime Minister Modi and defeated the Congress whenever they insulted PM like this, he asserted.
