Bengaluru: The manifesto for Shivajinagara Assembly constituency was released on May 2 at the press club of the city under the chairmanship of Aam Aadmi Party State President Prithvi Reddy.
Speaking to mediapersons, he said that in the 209 constituencies contested by the party, a better alternative choice is being given to the voters by issuing a separate manifesto for each of the constituencies. Prithvi Reddy said that Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers in every field have started this good work by collecting referendum for the past one year, which is a milestone in the political history of Karnataka.
The AAP candidate from Shivajinagar constituency, Prakash Nedungadi said, “As Aam Aadmi Party candidate with broom symbol, I will make Shivajinagar a citizen-friendly urban centre with world-class facilities.”
Prakash Nedungadi, who released the AAP Manifesto of Shivajinagar constituency said, “Shivajinagar is geographically and historically the centre of Bengaluru. Vidhan Sabha, High Court, Ministries and other government buildings are located in Shivaji Nagara. It is the focal point of Bangalore’s business District. It has some old religious places, shopping malls, parks and tourist spots. The residents here reflect the diversity of our state and country. However, till now more than 90 percent of Shivaji Nagara residents have been severely neglected in relation to government services. An atmosphere has been built that the people are ashamed to say that it is the central location of the state capital. If I win this election, I will bring change through honest and good governance. My goal is to implement 23-point schemes that addresses the pains and sufferings of the common man, starting with honest and transparent governance. This manifesto has been prepared by consulting the views of people across the sector and using the knowledge and experience of some of the best urban planning experts,” he said.
AAP’s Bangalore Minority President Fariduddin Sharif said, “The money that was supposed to be used to provide quality facilities to the masses of Shivajinagar has been looted systematically. Priority is being given only to the development of VIP areas here. For example, Shivajinagara has been allocated huge funds for smart city projects. But due to politicians’ thirst for commission, works have been done only superficially like make-up. So the problems of common people have not been solved. All these problems will be solved when Prakash Nedungadi becomes an MLA,” he said.
Aam Aadmi Party’s Manifesto Committee Chairman and Urban Development experts Ashwin Mahesh said, “Prakash Nedungadi’s Manifesto needs to be implemented to bring about transformation in Shivaji Nagara. This reflects the political approach of the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal. Instead of supporting vote bank, communal and money power politics, this Manifesto tries to address the real problems of all common people. AAP has done the same in Delhi too,” he said.
An expert in urban planning, Vivek Menon said, “The real problems of the common people should be realised and solved through the solutions given by the experts. Only Prakash Nedungadi can do this work in Shivajinagara. His manifesto has all the elements needed for the comprehensive development of Shivajinagara,” he said.
Prakash Nedungadi has helped the victims of Covid in various ways in the constituency. He was a member of two ward committees and helped solve the problems of thousands of people in the constituency
