Kochi: The film, ‘The Kerala Story’ became a topic of debate even before releasing of the film. The film is already becoming controversial due to the subject that is based on religion. Also, the film’s trailer has evoked good response and has garnered views in lakhs.
Actress Adah Sharma has played the lead role in this movie. The trailer shows that thousands of women in Kerala were converted to Islam and later joined the terrorist organisation, ISIS. That is now the cause of controversy. A petition was filed in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the release of the movie ‘The Kerala Story’. But the court rejected the writ petition.
There is a debate about whether the information in this movie which has raised all this controversy is true or false.
Muslim Youth League Kerala State Committee has announced that if the information in this movie is proved to be true, it will give a reward of Rs. 1 Crore.
The movie ‘The Kerala Story’ is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipual Amritlal Shah. Actress Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, Sidi Idnani and others have acted in the movie along with Adah Sharma. ‘The Kerala Story’ will be released on May 5.

After the Muslim Youth League Kerala State Committee announced that if the information in this film is proved to be true it will give a reward of Rs. 1 Crore, Hindu organisations have also responded. Pratish Vishwanath, the Founder of Hindu Seva Kendra, has announced that he will give Rs. 10 Crore, if the information is proved to be false.
The Director Sudipto Sen has said that the movie ‘The Kerala Story’ is based on a true incident. The movie ‘The Kashmir Files’, which was released in 2022, also caused a lot of discussion. Similarly, ‘The Kerala Story’ is also likely to get hype. It remains to be seen how the audience will accept this film. The movie is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
