Mangaluru: During his election campaign in Karnataka, Prime Minister Modi made a clever and strategic move by shouting “Jai Bajrang Bali” for the first time. Although it’s not clear why he added this slogan, it’s easy to guess that he was trying to appeal to the voters of the coast.
In Mulki town, which is a part of the Mulki-Moodabidri Assembly Constituency, Modi addressed a massive public meeting and criticised the Congress party. However, he refrained from mentioning the pointer in the Congress manifesto on the banning of Bajrang Dal. Modi urged the new and first-time voters to choose the BJP, which, according to him, has made the world look at India with respect. He highlighted the Congress party’s archaic economic policies and outdated social order and urged the people to vote for a party that would make Karnataka a manufacturing superpower.
Modi appealed to the youth, farming community, labour, and women and reminded them that his government had implemented various schemes for their benefit, such as the Direct Bank Transfer of Benefits in farming and Mudra Yojana, which benefited three crore women.
Modi also stressed the need for India to become a world leader in startups and encouraged youngsters with startup ideas to get funding and linkage with the world for their ideas and products. He praised the progress made in the startup sector since 2014, and he highlighted the Government’s efforts to set up innovation centres, research facilities, and training setups. Modi also spoke about the growth of the fisheries sector, which has doubled under the double-engine Government.
Modi criticised the Congress Party and called it an enemy of peace and progress. He accused the party of insulting the armed forces and taking help from terror elements. He urged the people of Karnataka to vote responsibly and bring in the right government to make the state number one in the country.
Modi concluded his speech by thanking the crowd and receiving idols of Mulky Venkatramana and Durgaparameshwari, as well as prasadam from Udupi Krishna Temple and Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple. Nearly a lakh of people attended the meeting from all eight constituencies and their candidates.
