Mysuru: In the film industry, we are surrounded by front light, backlight, and fill light. What is more significant is the internal illumination, said P. Sheshadri, National Award-Winning Film Director.
He was speaking after inaugurating Cinerama 2024, National Level Short Film Festival organised by the Department of Visual Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus on 16th February 2024 at its premises in Bogadi II Stage. He delved into the profound importance of visual media, expressing that while external lighting techniques enhance the visual appeal of a film, internal illumination, metaphorically referring to creativity and artistic depth, is equally crucial. He underlined the liberty filmmakers have to explore and produce films of various kinds, emphasizing the need for conviction in their creative endeavors.
Sheshadri highlighted the concept of “Kale + Udyama = Kalodyama,” possibly suggesting a fusion of creativity and enterprise leading to a holistic and impactful outcome. The term “Kalodyama” may symbolize the synthesis of artistic expression and industrious effort to achieve success in the realm of visual storytelling.
Vinaya Prasad, a renowned veteran actress who was the Chief Guest of the event, emphasized the importance of pursuing passion rather than solely chasing success.
