Bengaluru: Aam Aadmi Party’s schemes implemented in Delhi and Punjab are being copied by other parties and giving assurances in Karnataka and Party State President Prithvi Reddy said that this election is a fight between genuine and fake.
Speaking at a mediapersons interaction programme organised by Bangalore Press Club, Prithvi Reddy said, “It is a good development for politicians to interact with the media in a democratic system. Aam Aadmi Party has brought a change in the politics of the entire country and we are seeing a huge change in Karnataka elections as well. In the previous elections, voters used to cast their votes only on the basis of caste and religion and based on emotional considerations. But in this election they have started thinking that “what will we benefit from voting?” Through this, people have begun to want a pro-people governance,” said Prithvi Reddy.
“A few days ago I spoke to a journalist of a reputed organisation. He is a journalist with around 25 years of experience. His wife and children are in Shimoga and he is working alone in Bengaluru. When I asked him for reason behind this, he said it is not possible to afford education here by paying the expensive school fees of Bengaluru schools. So they are studying in Shivamogga and I am alone here in Bengaluru. He said that he will go to Shivamogga once in two weeks to meet his family. If a situation like this should be removed, then the Aam Aadmi Party, which will bring revolutionary changes in government education, should come to power,” said Prithvi Reddy.
Aam Aadmi Party has achieved national party status in just ten years. The Aam Aadmi Party is one of only three parties in power in more than one state. Aam Aadmi Party has proved that it is possible for common people not only to contest elections but also to win. In the Punjab elections, the Aam Aadmi Party made a common man contest the elections and defeat the Former Chief Minister,” said Prithvi Reddy.
“27 farmers are contesting Assembly elections from Aam Aadmi Party. Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party has given tickets to real farmers instead of namesakes. We have given tickets to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes even in unreserved constituencies. AAP has given tickets to a total of 18 women with the aim of upholding women’s empowerment. Is it possible to expect all these from other parties?,” asked Prithvi Reddy.
“It is unfortunate that people’s tax money is being used to waive off the loans of entrepreneurs. Governments are not getting enough money for anything due to the commission scam. In this case, the question among the voters is how far the guarantees given by them will be fulfilled.”
“Only if irregularities are curbed and an honest and transparent administration is given, it will be possible to provide infrastructure to the people free of charge and in good quality like in Delhi and Punjab. So-called free offers are not really free. People have paid for these in the form of taxes,” said Prithvi Reddy.
“Aam Aadmi Party has done public service throughout the Covid time. Hundreds of our workers have distributed masks, sanitisers, ration kits etc., fed countless people and alleviated hunger. People are paying close attention to all these and they are going to support in large numbers in the elections. I am confident that this time the Aam Aadmi Party will get interesting and decisive results,” said Prithvi Reddy.
