New Delhi: Tata-owned Air India has extended the suspension of its flights to and from Dubai and Israel’s capital, Tel Aviv, due to ongoing issues in both regions. Following severe flooding in Dubai, the airline announced that its flights will remain suspended until Sunday. In a statement issued on Friday, Air India expressed regret for the cancellations caused by operational disruptions at Dubai Airport and assured affected customers with valid tickets for travel until April 21 of rescheduling and full refunds.
Meanwhile, amid the prevailing conflict and tension between Israel and Iran, Air India has decided to continue the suspension of its flight services to Tel Aviv until April 30. “Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended until 30th April 2024, in view of the emerging situation in the Middle East,” the airline stated.
Air India is closely monitoring both situations and has offered one-time waivers for passengers rescheduling their flights. “We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from both destinations during this period,” the airline added.
IndiGo, which had also suspended its flight operations in Dubai due to flooding, resumed services on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The UAE experienced its heaviest rainfall in 75 years on Tuesday, leading the federal government to extend remote working for all state employees.
Several other airline carriers are reportedly considering similar moves due to the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
