Bengaluru: As the polling for the Karnataka Assembly elections began on May 10 from 7.00 am and ends at 6.00 pm and the Election Commission has made all preparations. The fate of 2615 candidates of the state will be decided on May 10.
There are a total of 5,31,33,054 crore voters in the state. Out of this there are 2,67,28,053 crore male and 2,64,00,074 crore female voters. Besides, there are 11,71,558 youth voters. Out of total voters, 4,92,85,247 voters have distributed voter cards.
There are a total of 58,545 polling stations in the state including Active Polling Stations- 58,282, Additional Polling Stations- 263. All kinds of preparations are made for voting in these polling booths. Toilet, rest room, any drinking water system has been provided.
Voter’s Photo Card is a necessary document for voting. If not, Aadhaar Card, NREGA Employment Identity Card, Pass Book with photograph issued by Post Office and Banks, Health Insurance Smart Card issued by Labour Department, Driving License, PAN Card, Smart Card issued by RGI and NPR Source, Indian Passport, Photograph Existing Pension Card, and Special Disability Pass is sufficient.
The Election Commission will give information about the constituency wise voter turnout once every two hours. Through this, you will get the details of the percentage of voting.
Prohibition of sale of liquor
Sale and supply of liquor in liquor shops in all constituencies is prohibited from 6.00 pm on May 8 to 12 midnight on May 10. The respective District Collectors have issued separate orders in this regard. Similarly, sale of liquor has been banned on the day of counting of votes. Liquor shops will be closed on May 13 from 6.00 am to 12 midnight.
