Mangalore: Dr. Fakhruddin Kunil has been honoured with the Double Major Award for his generous donation of $25,000 to the Rotary Club of Mangalore. This significant contribution marks him as the first recipient of this prestigious award across the districts of Mysore and Mangalore, as well as many other districts in Karnataka. Notably, several districts in Kerala have yet to receive this distinguished recognition.
The Rotary Club of Mangalore directed Dr. Kunil’s donation to the Rotary Club’s headquarters in New York, USA. This donation is expected to grow fivefold within a year, reaching over $100,000. The funds will be allocated to support efforts in eradicating polio, smallpox, and other dangerous diseases worldwide. This initiative reflects the Rotary Club’s ongoing commitment to global health and disease prevention.
India has achieved polio-free status largely due to the concerted efforts of the Rotary Club and partners like Bill Gates. Dr. Kunil’s donation represents a significant contribution to these life-saving endeavors.
We encourage all Rotary Club members across the country to consider making donations to support their local clubs. Collective efforts can make a substantial impact on global health.
On behalf of the editor and all members of the press, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to Dr. Fakhruddin Kunil for his noble contribution and well-deserved a ward. Dr. Kunil is also the Chairman of Kunil School Muttam and Natekal.
