Bengaluru: Assembly elections are in full swing in state politics and voting took place successfully on May 10. In this backdrop, those who thought that they should vote in the district and exercise their constitutional rights, were in a shock.
Hundreds of voters were deprived of voting despite reaching the polling station early in the morning to vote. The names of those who came to vote are not in the voter list. The verification officials informed the voters about the name deletion.
The voters of Hubballi-Dharawad West Assembly constituency faced a big shock as there was confusion in the polling station. The deletion of more than 400 votes in a single polling station has led to public outrage.
Votes in a single polling station under Hubballi Dharawad West constituency have been deleted. Polling booth votes of Priyadarshini College in Gurunath Nagar were deleted and the public did not get a chance to vote on May 10, expressing outrage against the Central Election Commission.
More than 400 voters who were deprived of voting expressed their outrage that the names of those who were alive were deleted from the voter list and how the people who were alive were deleted from the list. The public complained that the election officials’ negligence was the reason for the deletion of the voters’ names.
