Bengaluru: Leaders of Sunni Ulma Board and Jamia Hazrat Bilal have demanded that out of 9 Muslim community candidates selected by Congress, 5 MLAs should be given the post of Ministers and one Deputy Chief Minister (DyCM).
The leaders of the Congress held a press conference in Bengaluru and gave tickets to 15 Muslim candidates. Out of which 9 of them won. Muslim voters are the reason why Congress won 73 constituencies in Karnataka. 88% Muslim voters of the state have voted for the Congress, they stated.
No one in the history of Karnataka has been elected Chief Minister from the Muslim community. Therefore the Congress should at least give the post of DyCM, they demanded and added that the senior among the 9 MLAs should be identified and given the post of DyCM.
DCM post from Congress for all communities who lent support
After the results of the Karnataka election, the Congress has started discussing who will be the CM of the state. Who will become the CM between Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar is now a much debated topic and the people of the entire state are eagerly waiting. Meanwhile, the post of Deputy Chief Minister is also being discussed.
The post of DyCM has been proposed in the Congress and it is said that the post of DyCM is guaranteed for three important communities. Dalit, Lingayat and Muslim communities are the fortunate. Congress has thus decided to keep the trust of the community that supported the party. There is also a plan to implement the DyCM formula by the Congress and it is calculated to hold the community that has given huge support till the Lok Sabha elections. In the wake of the Lok Sabha elections, there has been a plan to play the caste card, and lobbying is going on behind the scenes to get a chance if there could be three DyCMs.
On the other hand, the Kurubas have demanded that Siddaramaiah be made the CM. The leaders have held a meeting under the leadership of the Kuruba Sangha.
