Bengaluru: Heavy rains and hailstorm lashed Bengaluru on May 21 afternoon, disrupting normal activities for residents in different parts of the city. A heavy rainfall in Bengaluru has been predicted on May 22, 23 and 24 for a total of three days.
Cyclone sighted in Vidarbha, Punjab. This cyclone is moving towards Tamil Nadu from Vidarbha. The cyclone is moving from the northern hinterland to the southern hinterland. Thus, heavy rainfall is expected in the southern hinterland.
Heavy rain is likely in Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Chitradurga. There will be high rainfall in the southern hinterland for three days from May 22. The Weather Department has warned that there may be thunder and lightning rain in Bengaluru and Bengaluru Rural.
Heavy rains in Bengaluru on May21 evening created a lot of disasters. One person lost his life in Bengaluru. Houses and compounds have collapsed in many parts of the city.
