Mandya: MP Sumalatha Ambareesh, through social media sent a message to media which published negative reports on her.
In a detailed message she stated that as you all know I called a press conference on March 10, 2023 and announced my support to BJP. After announcing the election date, the party announced the candidates on April 18.
All the candidates announced by the party in my constituency are first time candidates. However, they have fought effectively against their opponents. And we had only two to three weeks for the campaign. However, we fought by building a new force. As a result, for the first time in Mandya, Srirangapattana, Maddur and Malavalli, the number of votes for BJP increased significantly. However, not only in Mandya but also in Karnataka, the anti-governance wave and the Congress wave increased, so the expected result was not achieved. So we accept the defeat of the party and make necessary changes along with introspection.”
In a press conference held on March 10, I said, “I am taking a risk. I know this is a risk. I made it clear in front of the media. Despite all these reasons for the party’s defeat, you figure it out in your own way. You are spreading false messages. How is it okay to create news and misinform people? I would like to make one thing clear. I am not one to sit and calculate my future in the next election or politics 24X7. If I had only thought selfishness, maybe my position would have been different. I don’t like to do that. I take my decisions based on my conscience and think only what is best for my constituency. I will always stick to my decision.”
“I reiterate that I will always have faith in the leadership of our honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Please correct your perceptions. One important point should not be forgotten here. I have been fighting alone in my self-respecting constituency against the corrupt and arrogant legislators of the constituency. My self-respecting people who have observed this constant struggle of mine have taught them a lesson. There is only one person who wins from that party. They are also new.”
Yes, District Congress has taken advantage of my fair fight. I respect it as it is a mandate given by my self-respecting people of Mandya. I firmly believe that politics, policy and tactics work to a certain extent. But, ultimately in any Democracy the common man should win, not parties or leaders.”
“Currently I have two goals in front of me. There is another big election ahead. We will strengthen the party further in my constituency and work hard to win the elections. It is my unwavering belief that the BJP party will emerge stronger and more surprising than ever and emerge victorious. Again, I am fully aware of my decision and the consequences. So I have no regrets about this. Those who spread bad and negative news and trolls please develop a healthy mind. Take rest and improve your health. Your trolls only show your personality, it has no effect on my work.”
“Your cheap words, abusive words, the words you use are showing your personality. Please don’t insult your parents by your behaviour. Healthy and positive criticism, comments, discussions are always welcome on this land .Enjoy and celebrate the victory. Be ready for a strong fight next time,” she added in a long message.
