Bengaluru: Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan said on May 25 that a legal and political struggle will be launched against the FIR registered against him.
Explaining to the mediapersons, Ashwath Narayan said, I have already clarified in the House regarding the statement given in last February. I also said that I am sorry if this statement hurts. However, Congress came to power and made the FIR to be registered on the pretext of the statement of four months ago, he said.
I have no personal grudge against Siddaramaiah. I have respect for him. However, ideologically there are differences between our parties and theirs. In this background, my statement during the election campaign in Mandya is being misinterpreted, he said.
He clarified that it was not his intention.
“People have given power to Congress. Knowing that, time and effort should be used for public works. It is not good to do hate politics instead,” he said.
Ashwath Narayan criticised that this shows that the Congress has gained power in the second week.
He said that in a meeting of senior police officers, the fact that the complaint was filed after the DyCM threatened that why they did not file a complaint against my statement shows that all this is politically motivated.
Moreover, not even a week after coming to power, there has already been an attack on a Bajrang Dal worker in Dakshina Kannada District, he observed and added, “This also shows what is the priority of the Government. Let the Government focus on fulfilling the guarantees given to the people. Otherwise, they will have to fight,” he said.
