Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) loss in the Karnataka Assembly elections means that the party is no longer in power, now the ruling Congress Government is opening files of irregularities done during BJP Government. The new minister M. B. Patil has warned that he will re-investigate the irregularities that took place during the BJP rule. Meanwhile, the allegation of looting crores of rupees in the Jayanagar Commercial Complex construction and allocation is again in the news.
The BBMP officials and Former MLA have been alleged of looting crores of rupees in the name of Jayanagar Shopping Complex. It is said that Rs. 15 to Rs 20 Crore have been looted.
Jayanagar MLA C. K. Ramamurthy made this allegation that 362 shops have been constructed in Jayanagar’s new shopping complex. Out of 362 stores, 30 to 35 stores were sold illegally. MLA Ramamurthy alleged that at least Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 Lakh were extorted from each shop. It is said that there is illegality in the newly allotted shops of the commercial building built in collaboration with the corporation and BDA.
New Jayanagar constituency MLA Ramamurthy is chasing the corrupt people since he has been elected. He said that crores of rupees have been collected as bribes for allotting shops in Jayanagar Commercial Complex and constructing it illegally. Several stores have been allotted to the one who ever has demanded by bribing. Thus, MLA Ramamurthy has decided to file a complaint with the Commissioner and the Lokayukta. It has been urged to vacate the shop which has been sold illegally. MLA Ramamurthy has urged the corporation to vacate the shop built in violation of the law.
The Jayanagar Shopping Complex is a four decade old and first shopping complex constructed for the welfare of the vendors and residents of the vicinity. The facilities available in the newly constructed building with a total built up area of 8301 sqm. It has parking, rehabilitation of vegetable market, whole sale yard, Janata Bazaar, Canara bank and Under Ground Cold Storage facility.
