In a move to meet the growing demand for housing in Bengaluru, Housing Minister B. Z. Zameer Ahmed has directed the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) to develop a detailed project report for the construction of five high-tech satellite towns on the outskirts of the city. Additionally, the Minister has instructed the board to build opulent villas in scenic locations to cater to the affluent population.
Recognising the need for world-class infrastructure and opulent living areas, the Minister has recommended the building of 2,000-acre high-tech satellite towns. These townships will provide around 30,000 sites and 5,000 dwellings, bringing the total number of plots and homes to 1.50 lakh over the five satellite towns.
The Minister has suggested that the villas be located amid scenic landscapes, with around 500 acres set aside for this purpose, emphasising the importance of preserving natural regions. The goal is to give inhabitants with a peaceful atmosphere while also providing modern facilities and connectivity.
While addressing the housing needs of the underprivileged, the Minister has emphasised that the KHB should prioritise the welfare of the community over profit. The construction of housing programmes should be of the highest quality, ensuring that the underprivileged have access to safe and comfortable homes.
To hasten the realisation of these ambitious projects, the KHB will find suitable land for satellite towns and villa locations as soon as possible. To ensure smooth execution, the project report will cover the design, infrastructural requirements, and financial considerations.
The construction of high-tech satellite towns and sumptuous villas underlines the Government’s aim to convert Bengaluru into a world-class city with a varied variety of housing alternatives for all sectors of society. These measures will not only handle the region’s expanding housing need but will also contribute to its overall economic growth.
As the KHB begins the process of creating the project report, stakeholders, urban planning experts, and construction professionals will collaborate to ensure that the vision of building hi-tech cities and opulent villas becomes a reality. The focus will be on creating sustainable and inclusive communities that enhance the overall quality of life for residents in Bengaluru and the surrounding areas.
