Bengaluru: Passengers travelling in Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses have to be extra vigilant about their belongings. In a case reported on June 14 in a KSRTC Bus No. KA-57 F 3975 operated by the Bangalore Central Division, a passenger sitting in seat number 17-18 managed to steal Rs 5 Lakh from a couple seated in seat number 29-30. He got down near the Electronic City signal and started running away.
However, thanks to the courageous and swift action, Manjunath, Driver, and Driver-cum-Conductor Somappa, chased the thief, caught him and handed over to the police.
The passenger couple, Thirumurugan, who had lost their money, expressed their heartfelt gratitude and happiness upon recovering his stolen money of Rs. 5 Lakh. He conveyed his appreciation to the dedicated staff through an email.
KSRTC Managing Director, V. Anbu Kumar, expressed his extreme happiness and commendation for the exceptional, praiseworthy and timely action of the bus staff. He remarked that their timely response and genuine concern to serve the passengers, as a role model for others. Anbu Kumar further stated that the staff members involved are the pride and honour for the entire organisation.
He hopes that such examples will inspire others within the organisation to emulate their commitment and dedication.
