Niransha Naik’s ‘Vaat’ made the audience rethink cinema and their life decisions. When asked about the male lead’s character, Niransha says, ‘People don’t change easily, the way he didn’t.’ So the movie showed people that choosing the right path is not as easy as we think, nor is changing.
The movie explores the grey area of people’s characters, which is neither right nor wrong, which was a different watch compared to the other genres featured on Day 1. The movie’s ending was an unexpected twist, according to the audience at NIFF.
While expressing his thoughts, one of the audience said how initially he thought about moving forward with a dry objective. Still, there came a moment that elevated the whole plot and complimented the director.
Niransha himself spoke about how the audience reacted, including criticisms he welcomed with open hands. The movie made people ponder for a long time, showing how cinema is the key to thinking in an era of homogeneity.
