Bengaluru: As the weekends are off, with free bus rides several young women are coming in groups to the tourist spots, and the free bus effect has started now. As there are both pros and cons, although there is a loss for the transport department, it has led to an increase in revenue for the Forest and Tourism Department.
The number of women and girls visiting the Bannerghatta Biological Park in Anekal Taluk of Bangalore City District is increasing day by day, and the number of female tourists on Saturday was found to be high due to the effect of Shakti Yojana. Women and children who had come to Bengaluru from many Districts of the state had thronged the Bannerghatta Park.
People usually visit Bannerghatta Biological Park during Saturday, Sunday and Government holidays to see safari and zoo. But this time, family members who came from other districts of the state to Bengaluru through free bus are visiting Bannerghatta Park.
From Majestic, Bannerghatta Park is just 20 km away, and there are BMTC direct busses from Yeshwanthpur. Due to this, many women including students visited and enjoyed the nature.
Even though the Transport Department is incurring losses by making the bus free for women, the Tourism Department and the small hotel industry have started receiving indirect income. Bannerghatta Park is getting a good response day by day and it is a tailor-made place for a day trip.
Today being a Sunday, more people are expected to come than yesterday, and because of this, it will be good for the Bannerghatta animal world as well, is the wish of the park staff.
