Bengaluru: As assured in its manifesto, the Congress Government on June 17 directed to revise some of the content in Kannada and Social Science Textbooks of Classes VI to X. Following this, the Karnataka Textbook Society has issued a circular on revision of textbooks.
As per the new revision, important changes include replacing Keshava Baliram Hegdewar’s ‘Nijavada Adarshapurusha Yaragabeku’ with Shivakotyacharya’s ‘Sukumaraswamy Kathe’. Shathavadhani Dr R. Ganesh’s ‘Shreshta Bharatiya Chintanegalu’ will be replaced with Sa. Ra. Aboobacker’s ‘Yudha’, and P. Lakshminarayan Bhat’s ‘Achchariya Imbala’ will be replaced with Dasthagir Allibai’s ‘Urusugalli Bhavaikyathe’ apart from Chakravarthi Sulibele’s ‘Thayi Bharatiya Amaraputraru’ lesson being completely dropped.
All these changes have been made in Kannada textbooks.
