Brother Joseph Crasta, The founder of Snehalaya, rescued a person named Kenchanna from Chitradurga on January 19. He was found wandering on the streets of Uppala, Kasaragod.
He showed extremely violent behaviour and was admitted to Snehalaya Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Centre. The Psychiatric counsellors and medical team managed to give him the appropriate care and support.
In addition to the medication, he was urged to take part in various therapeutic activities and counselling sessions.
Based on the information provided by him, the organisation’s social workers were able to determine his native place. There were also phone calls, family counselling, and sessions for Kenchanna and his family. After which psychiatric social workers arranged a reunion on June 18 at Snehalaya. The family members came to Snehalaya to receive Kenchanna. His wife and mother were in tears as they saw him alive and in good condition.
Kenchanna was really delighted and happy as he is back to his abode. The organisation’s staff were happy and satisfied on witnessing the reunifications done through the centre.
