Kai Havertz has been under pressure to deliver the goods in front of goal ever since he joined the Blues, and that’s probably something he hasn’t done as frequently as may be expected for a signing who became the most expensive German in history, say insiders.
The international player reportedly paid £75.8 million to join Stamford Bridge in 2020, but press reports claim that in his three seasons with the Blues, he only scored 27 goals.
Due to this, it wouldn’t really come as a surprise to anyone if Chelsea supporters wanted to get rid of him; nevertheless, it can be argued that Havertz was never really given the best chance to fully demonstrate his abilities.
Havertz, who was first brought in to play alongside Timo Werner as a main striker, really performs considerably better in a slightly more distanced role.
At Arsenal, Gabriel Jesus would be the star, allowing him to excel in his natural position as a second striker.
In contrast to Chelsea, who seemed to experiment with a different formation every other week, the Gunners already know who players to play in the different attacking positions. Therefore, is it surprising that Havertz was never resolved?
Time will tell if he develops into the player at Arsenal that everyone anticipated he would be at Chelsea, but on the surface, this appears to be excellent business on the part of the north Londoners.
