Bengaluru: The Lokayukta raids on houses and offices shocked Government officials in many parts of the state, including Bengaluru city on June 28, in the wee hours.
Lokayukta officials have raided many parts of the state on allegations of corruption and disproportionate assets and are checking documents in the houses and offices of the officials.
Lokayukta raids have also taken place in other districts including Bengaluru, Ramanagar a, Bagalakote, Belagavi, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi, Yadgiri, and Kolar. Recently i.e. on May 31, the Lokayukta officials raided simultaneously in many places in Karnataka.
K. R. Puram Tahasildar Ajith Rai’s house in Bengaluru was raided by Lokayukta at 10 places. They raided 10 places including houses and offices on the allegation of disproportionate assets case.
During this time, many important documents including Rs. 40 lakh in cash were seized from the house. Lokayukta also raided the house of Agriculture Department officials in Bagalkote.
Officials are checking important documents at the house of Joint Director of Agriculture Chetana Patil in Akkimaradi Layout of Vidyagiri. Also, Krishna Shiruru, Assistant Director of Agriculture of Baragi Bhagat, are undertaking raid of the house and gathering information. The raid was led by Lokayukta DSP Pushpalata.
Lokayukta officials raided the residence and farm house of Tumakuru District Agriculture Department Joint Director Ravi. They raided the residence at Shankarapura in Tumakuru and the farm house at Ramanagara and checked the documents. Ravi, who is working as a JD in Tumakuru Agriculture Department, was transferred from Hassan to Tumakuru.
Hescom Executive Engineer Shekhar Bahurupi’s house in Ramtheertha Nagara, Belagavi was raided. At present, Shekhar Bahurupi is working in Harpanahalli, Vijayanagara District. Shekhar Bahurupi was suspended in 2019 in connection with a scandal that occurred during the floods while working in Athani.
Lokayukta officials raided KRDL AEE Kodandaramaiah houses. Five places including a house in Kuvempu Nagara of Kolar were raided. Under the leadership of Kolar Lokayukta SP Umesh, the team raided in the wake of allegations of illegal property acquisition and documents are being verified.
The Lokayukta raided the house and office of Assistant Director Sharanappa Madiwala of Raichur District Urban and Rural Planning Unit. An office and house in Sindhanur town and a farm house on Naganahalli-Khandala road in Kalaburagi were raided.
