Bengaluru: The Congress Government’s second guarantee scheme Anna Bhagya will be launched from July 10. BPL Cardholder’s account will be activated by depositing money. The Food Department has made a plan to deposit money into the account in a phased manner.
Anna Bhagya is the most ambitious guarantee scheme of the Congress Government. Anna Bhagya Yojana was supposed to be implemented from July 1. As rice is not available, the Government has decided to pay for 5 kg of rice along with 5 kg of rice from Central Government. CM Siddaramaiah will officially launch this project today.
On July 10, the amount will be added to the account of BPL cardholders of Kolar and Mysore district. Later, on July 11, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has decided to pay the remaining districts BPL cardholders.
There are total 1.28 Crore BPL card holders in the state. Out of 1.28 Crore, 99.9% are Aadhaar linked and also bank accounts linked. The remaining 6 lakh cards need to be linked with Aadhaar. Rs. 34 per kg and Rs. 170 per person for 5 kg will be credited into the account.
To avail this scheme one must be a BPL ration card holder. Aadhaar card should be linked to the ration card. If Aadhaar – bank account is not linked, money will not be credited. Payment through DBT to the cardholder’s account will be done. No application is required for Anna Bhagya scheme.
